Racism

To clear any doubt, who decides if something is racist etc. We all have different ideas. The best way would be that if it would be illegal then it’s not allowed, however if it is left to one person then it is open to misinterpretation as some people are more “woke” than others. And as the elderly are a minority group are we protected.

Romany gypsies and Irish travellers are protected against racial discrimination.

Travellers who haven't been recognised as ethnic groups by the courts aren't protected against race discrimination under the Equality Act

I’m the sole arbiter because I’m the person responsible for this board and if someone wanted to sue for something on this board, it would be me that had to deal with it.

The elderly are protected from discrimination, but stopping them being racist isn’t discrimination.

It is up to Admin or whoever is legally responsible for this board, certainly isn't easy and is a responsibility of running said board.

Which is why I said if it was illegal racism then yes, if it isn’t illegal then isn’t it just a comment/opinion. Then at least it is the law of the country that decides if somebody is racist rather than one football fan.

Admin decides at the end of the day what is allowed or not, both Suedehead and I have had the Dictator remark thrown at us before but someone has to decide, I'm pretty sure there is a statement in the terms and conditions around racism etc.

The act of process of appraisals or checking a post firstly for suitability or validation,
is down only to you as the sole administrator of the board .

We’re all thankful for the job you do as a volunteer on your own but, is there any poster willing to help you that you know of IF indeed you’d want one ?

Agree entirely.

The alleged "laws of the land" are open to interpretation, as many smart-arsed lawyers have worked out over the years.

And being correct in law can still prove to be expensive if you have to defend yourself against litigation. The cautious approach is probably the best way.

This is an independently owned Web forum and nobody has a right to post on here, if Admin decides that for instance a remark about immigration is inappropriate they have the right to remove it regardless of legality of said remark.

Whilst I appreciate all that I am trying to think of a way where admin cant be accused of using their power to press their views over other people. Surely if nobody is allowed to break the law then that makes sense and nobody can accuse admin of being “woke” Well I can but by other means
