Atmosphere and the fans role

I thought Edgeley Park was very quiet last night. I think we the supporters have become a bit complacent and are expecting us to batter teams at Edgeley Park every week. Let’s not forget the important role fans play in winning teams. We do give the players a lift and help to secure points for the team. Every home game we should be roaring the lads onto victory and getting behind them even when we’re not playing well.

We do make a huge difference !

We are the 12th man and must be heard to lift the players. I agree 90s Hatter, we have an important role to provide for the team.

Dosser has so far tried to start the following chants this season:

“Let’s Go, Lythgoe, Let’s Go.”
“You’ll Never Beat Bob Murray.”
“Because Maybe, When You Play For County, You’ll Rarely Score, You’re my Waterall”.
“Harry, Harry Hardy, Harry Hardy, Harry Harrry Hardy”.
“We’re On The March With Trautmann’s Army”.
“Oooh oooh oooh, Heaton Norris Rovers, oooh oooh oooh, Divison 3 North”.

None of met with any success. Indeed most of them have been greeted with strange stares and people moving to other parts of the ground.

Sorry to say it - but it's a pain listening to that endless , repetitive noise all night.
Now we appear to also have cultivated a new form of idiot - shining laser pens in the ground causing the referee to threaten to call a stop to the game. We have some right morons supporting us - or should I say pretending to support us when in reality they are just looking for personal attention, causing trouble and being a nuisance to others. It's time the Club banned a few more.

The teenage knobs that we’ve seemed to have attracted wouldn’t be missed. Wouldn’t even be bothered if they had life bans because when you’re a knob at that age with no perception of how to behave, you’re a knob for life. Leopards never change their spots.

They are costing the Club it's good name. And a large amount of money as a result of fines and increased policing bills. Real supporters don't do that. We are better off without them. Zero tolerance.

There must have been fifty or more stewards at the end of the game policing the pitch area at the Cheadle End, and even the family stand.
This increase in numbers will no doubt be because of the recent bad behaviour by a moronic minority, pitch invasion etc.
Probably going to cost the club over £50k over a season.

Bans are presumably enforced by stewards having photos of the naughty list, not sure how you enforce a life ban that way, good luck 40 years later

Good job they didn't ban our fans back in 1911 or the 60s. What's happening now has happened before, apart from laser pen of course.

These young kids are the future life blood of our club, as in the past. Ban them, then you ban our future.

A quiet word in their ear at the Eastliegh game worked.

well said doss. i,d hate for EP to be turned into a stadium of happy clappers who show appreciation to the opposition and match officials. said it before that our fans are no different to ones anywhere else apart from the extra noise and passion they have always had.

All sorts of story's about the "few and the drum" who moved to the popside. Maybe co-incidental but the very quite first half CE was reflected on the field of play. Both sides are supposed to ignite the other but the first half was a failure for both of them. Can we have our drum back please ?

If those singers in UT3 moved to the pop side with the drum then ,because of lower roof and closer to pitch than Upper Tier CE, the noise generated will be significantly more than current

At the moment the noise from UT3 is furthest away from the pitch and high up resulting in noise dissipation as it reaches pitch level and beyond

No chance, never in its history has a full pop side on song created more noise than a CE in full flow.

some like the drum others do not. as for noise levels its far better on the ears than those bloody rattles were years ago. stood close to a couple with them really used to grate.
