From The Athletic, Brighton U23 boss Simon Rusk is set to become #stockportcounty manager.

The club have given no comment on these reports & plan to comment only when they confirm the appointment of the new manager. This is reportedly set to be in time for Woking on Saturday.

I reckon the handling of the matter has been very poor however it looks like the Managers role in the future will be massively different from what it has been in the past and isn't one that would suit Jim.

I want Jim's reputation as the best Manager we have ever had to remain intact and his talent utilised by those who will benefit from it.

I'm not going to cut my nose off to spite my face though. I support County and will wish the next Manager well regardless of who he is.

Football changes all the time.
In the 70 yrs of County support I've been pissed off many times but I'm still County mad. Much as I like Jim, these things happen.
I can go back years, we've always been a selling club and to see your favourites leave, really narks. Bill Atkins, Jim Fryatt, Big Kev, the 96/97 team which would have reached the Premiership etc etc, but we just have to smile through gritted teeth.
Mr Stott will keep improving this club and we will reach his target of the Championship, I'm sure

Huge gamble. Zero management experience in my opinion. Managing youth football is not the same. Rather have gone for Alty’s up and coming Manager than a youth team coach.

Promotion or he’ll struggle to win over the fans I feel.

Steve Bruce is experienced, would you want him.
Eddie Howe hasn’t done badly at Bournemouth, went straight from playing to managing.

He's their u23s Manager rather than their youth team. Players on the cusp of the first team rather than youngsters trying to make their way in the game.

I know what you mean though. It's a gamble that we all hope pays off.
