From todays Guardian "72 HOURS IS A LONG TIME IN FOOTBALL
18 January: “Five years ago today, manager Jim Gannon returned for his third spell in charge at Stockport County. The rest, as they say, is history” – a warm tribute from the club’s social media disgrace team, there.
21 January: “Stockport County have parted company with manager Jim Gannon. The decision is not results-based but centred around culture” – oh."

The reaction of the fans is heart-warming, yes there is a minority (much smaller than I thought) who are eager to move on, but overall they are the oddball troll types.

September: beloved car (little silver MG TF) got scrapped.

October: I lose out in a work restructure interview which took place after a night spending 16 hours (I shIt you not) lifting my cancer patient girlfriend from bed to wheelchair to toilet and vice versa.

November: Girlfriend and me told while she was in hospital that she had months to live as cancer had spread to spine and brain. I've since found out liver as well.

Girlfriend back in hospital on Oct 28. Back out Nov 27. At home on electronic hospital bed in our living room for barely a month. Carers, district nurses visiting but me pretty full time carer.

Back in hospital on Christmas Eve. Died on Dec 27. Grieving alone during week between her passing and New Year. Funeral Jan 13 where I had to give the eulogy.

Now County sack Jim. Massive Jim fan here but I guess I've got some sort of perspective!

Not wishing to moan or anything but Jesus fkn Christ....

My father was a County fan like my grandfather before :-)

Christ mate that's terrible, my daughter has been in and out of Christies over xmas but is hopefully ok now....There's not much that can be said, I hope you are ok xx
