So refreshing watching old highlights today where they had real officials.

Souness taking a Boro corner, the liner went up to him and told him to put the ball in the D. He then came back because the ball was still touching the line, he then placed the ball in the D himself before allowing Souness to take the kick

To put it in a nutshell, Stockport County were cheated. The game should be scrapped with County going through and the Bubbles being kicked out.

Our first goal v Everton at EP all those years ago came from a foul throw. Mike Flynn`s foot was clearly over the line and on the pitch when he threw in for Marrhew Bound to head home.

Nonsense Dosser....it’s common knowledge that we’re known as ‘Scrawpey Stockport’.
The goal at Chesterfield that brought us promotion was miles offside, all three of our goals in our Wembley win from foul throws and fouls by County weren’t given in over two thirds of our Championship season....not to mention the blatant handball seconds before we ‘beat’ Southampton at The Dell.

The only correct decisions made by a referee in living memory were made by Sir Peter Willis at ‘The Theatre of Dreams’.

9 times out of ten ball is never in the D, we switched off and allowed them to take it quickly.

In recent years only a slither of the ball has to be seen hanging over the quadrant....I wouldn’t worry about it doss.

...anyway bingo in 10 minutes (don’t forget your dabber!) and then your favourite... mug of cocoa before nurse tucks you in...you were allowed to stay up late on Monday and were a nuisance all day Tuesday.

The law is that as long as any part of the ball is covering any part of the curve it is legal. That photo looks like a tiny part of the ball may have been over the curve so nothing wrong with it. What was wrong was switching off for it.

I think the modern rule is, if any part of the ball is over any part of the line then it's OK.

I agree that keeping it in the quadrant would be much simpler, and easier to understand and enforce.

Remember Colwyn in the pre-season when we took a stroll down the prom to elevate the evening before’s tincturing?
We came across a mystical horizon viewer where one could look out to sea and observe everything magnified....all for only 10p!!!
Excitedly I rummaged through my Farrah pockets and plunged the coin into the state of the art artefact....there was a click and the horizon was in view!...only thing was it looked exactly the same as it did by just looking at it anyway.
Puzzled, I asked you to have a look...you too were ecstatic at the thought of seeing the sea slightly bigger.
