I note from the COWS item that there is mention of the 'scheduled FA Trophy 3rd round fixture'.
Given the fixture congestion for all clubs due to Covid, and the potential for bad weather postponements I fail to see why the FA Trophy is proceeding. The 1st Round fixtures haven't started and won't until 8th December. They are then planning to shoehorn 3 rounds into 12 days. And of course last season's final still hasn't been played!
That at a time when National League clubs have a minimum of 34 games still to play, and some, including ourselves, have 37.
Can't see the sense of continuing with it, accepting of course that some of the smaller clubs, (for instance Ashton United and the other Tameside clubs where I live), will benefit financially.

It was a shame the first round wasn't during this lockdown which may have forced the FA's hand. Cancel it for this year with so much uncertainty and several clubs already with backlogs. I would hope we just play those desperate for a game (Barnes, maybe Williams, MSH and Gilmour) with the likes of Hopkins and Stanyer. I would give the regulars a rest with so many other games in December including some really hard away games.
