I'd say no, and definitely not if someone has already replied to the original post, as it changes the context.

If people need to edit posts why not just use the "preview" button before posting and edit from there?

If someone edits it after a response is received then you'd know because it tells you what time the person edited their post.

Yup, I know that.

But it still changes the context of the thread as you don't know what was there in the first place. The edit facility is a gift for WUMs to throw stuff out there then retract it.

I’d be worried about any ‘legal’ stuff that might crop up.
Folk could change their original post and god forbid it could cause loads of grief.

I regularly edit posts on Facebook - usually to avoid embarassment when I have made a typo or three.

It should be in the posting log, however it only goes back so far- 500 posts in fact.

Probably, but it’d be a load of messing about comparing things up...although Chris did most, if not all of the work, I was originally consulted, we both had full time jobs (I’m sure it’s the case for the present owners) so it was sometimes a case of keeping an eye on everything whilst you were supposed to be working then coming home and spending hours messing about with different aspects of the board.
I particularly remember a series of emails whilst on holiday knackering our ‘quiet night out’....

The edit feature would have caused more mither.

It's not so bad when things are going well but like you say night's out can often be spent on the mobile when things are not going as planned.

It sounds more like a call that admin need to make.

It's more convenient from our perspective, but you've got to deal with all the hassle and possible legal issues if things get messy.
