We are all excited about the take over going through and expectation has gone through the roof, but this is a really tricky period for Jim Gannon and the Club. |
We've announced that we will be going full time in the summer. Many players will be questionning their ability and whether they are part of our plans going forward. The part time players will be already looking for their next move.
It will be really hard for the manager to keep minds focussed, meanwhile the fans are expecting great things.
There's not a great deal the manager can do mid-season. Not many players are willing to move, certainly not of the quality we are looking to attract.
Jim was given the objective of avoiding relegation this season, with a limited budget. That has been achieved.
I think we need to be realistic and patient. The team is going to be mostly rebuilt during the summer. Maybe a handful of players will be part of that. Minihan, Keane, Arthur? Lloyd?
If we finish mid season, it's been a good season, on the back of a promotion.
We are relying on bringing in quality loan signings. Hopefully we can identify a few that are good enough to sign in the summer, so they can go on this journey with us.
