The friendly tomorrow night reminds me of a similar situation from many years ago. According to the voices in my head, it took place early in the 1996-97 season after the famous discussion between the senior players and Dave Jones over a cup of tea. |
I believe we then played a friendly at home, the only thing I remember was County scoring at the Railway End and the crowd singing "What the ****ing **** was that?" because, apart from two in the League Cup against Chesterfield, County hadn't scored at home by that stage of the season.
Can anyone remember if I've got this straight, and if so, remind me who we played in the friendly? If I _have_ got it right, perhaps tomorrow night will have a similar galvanising effect on our season.
