    What a fantastic trip . I was lucky enough to be staying in the same hotel as the players. There was no issues other than the bar manager telling us to keep the noise down late in the evening. Players all very approachable but the fans respectfully gave them space and didn’t harass them. DC always seemed to be grafting and working on something even in the hotel. County fans were everywhere we took more than the other clubs out there. The bad news are the injuries. Connolly on crutches after rolling his ankle early in the week. He will fly home for a scan. Fiorini also appeared to do the same in the match.

    The fans event was just perfect. Derby fans were envious because they do nothing like that. Also Derby fans annoyed their players didn’t come over at the end of the game. We just get it right don’t we!

    The game itself was close but I thought Stockport edged it. Derby got a last min goal. Standouts for me were Lewis Bate. His range of passing was awesome. He controlled the midfield and I don’t think we’ve had a midfielder like that since Chris Marsden!
    Also Jack Diamond stood out.
