The quality of football from England for the past month or so hasn't been up to the required standard. Prior to the Euro's the performances haven't been particularly inspiring when you consider the player pool England have. Southgate picked his squad, leaving some good players at home and taking some with injuries. Southgate picked his team (of favourites), Southgate dictated the tactics. It was in the main very dreary. The body language from several of the players just wasn't right. And earlier this morning I heard an interview with him when he blamed the loss on injuries within the squad. As a project, it is fizzling out and he should be replaced.
