Michael Mellon is currently contracted at Burnley after progressing through their youth system and signed his first professional contract in February 2025. In various youth teams at Burnley, Mellon has made 38 appearances and scored 27 goals. The striker has also received caps at Scotland’s under-17 and under-21 levels. The reason why the 20-year-old may be sought after this summer is because of his short stint at Morecambe during the first half of the 2023-24 season. During this stint, Mellon made 27 appearances for the Shrimps in all competitions and scored 15 goals. The striker tested opposition keepers with an average of 3.87 shots per 90 minutes with a shot accuracy of 68%.
