Depends what happens with Smith; if he goes in the summer then I agree but there's no reason for Ben not to start the season as number 1. I expected Smith to have transitioned to number 1 by the end of this season but Ben, as with every challenger for his shirt, has seen off the competition and rightfully kept his place. Nobody is irreplaceable but likewise those who play a big part in success deserve the chance to enjoy it when you get there.
