All the boys put a really determined shift against Walsall last Saturday and deservedly got the 3 - 1 win with our threadbare team ! Walsall were a fairly decent team and set out to frustrate us and at half time that went to plan . The 1 - 1 score line was fair enough at that point . Apart from one guilt edged chance to the Saddlers in the second half , their penalty box was under seige and we were worthy winners . Next up we take on Nottingham . They do two things really well in League two , they score goals for fun but also concede goals for fun . God , imagine if they played Wrexham next , they would be winning 7 - 1 at half time , Wrexham would win 8 - 7 , with their winning goal deflected off the referee , that then hit both posts to claim a win in the fifteenth minute of injury time ! In all truth , I would be happy with a point . A point might be enough to keep us top of the league and keep the wobbly momentum going. A bit depends on what Mansfield do against Forest Green Rovers with their match in hand , you would expect them to win easily by three or four goals . However the weather may play a crucial part . We could do with the Mansfield match being called off . The weather forecast is pretty dire for most of the week, I would be surprised if any lower league games are played at all this week . Oh , that’s another point , I am sick and tired of all the doom and gloom climate change folk who predict a dire future . This is England , it’s the middle of January , the middle of winter , I am so sorry , it is usually cold . What’s the problem with that . I think though the weather may improve a little bit from Friday , Saturday looks fairly good , so we might dodge the snow and get away with it . I am looking forward to going to a big club , big ground , our team virtually picks itself , I see no reason why the team DC finished with against Walsall can pinch a point against Nottingham !
