Times and football technology have changed. There don't appear to be any pitches that resemble a quagmire these days. The ball is a lot lighter, boots give a better "feel" for the ball. Even centre-backs and goalkeepers have good technical ability with the ball at their feet. I still cringe though when it's played across the back and the opposing striker almost intercepts it. No good for my old ticker. |
