It has to be said it was a good effort by the County fans , over 8 , 000 in on a freezing cold night . Was also surprised that over 200 came up from Kent , a good effort by the visitors . Gilingham are quite a ' big club' in League Two circles with a huge fan base and I wonder whether it was all worth it to see their team offer utter dross . Not that County were that much better . Am not going to give points per player as some members are getting fed up of this type of analysis ! However , a points summary , is what I am offering now .
( OUT OF TEN )
Players effort - 10 out of ten ! Team performance 4 out of ten Entertainment 3 out of ten
I thought defensively , Bryne and Horsfall looked a good pairing , so we were solid there .
Croasdale had a decent second half as did Stretton when he came on . Think Stretton should be given a go at Colchester alongside Paddy Madden . Thats no critisism of Kyle , who has done great over the last few months but looks a bit jaded and needs a rest . Madden and Stretton are both fairly fresh and worth trying .
To be fair to DC he has tried to change things around a bit to get a winning formula . We go to Colchester , I think we have a chance . Anyone can beat anyone in this league , who would have thought Rochdale would see off Stevenage last weekend .
What I want to see from Colchester is they give it a go , they are at home , the onus is on them to attack and try to score goals and not just play for a draw . That may suit us and we could catch them on the break . I see no reason why we can t come away from there with a result , lets go for a win from the off !!!
