    .....against a woeful side bereft of form and confidence. We hardly created anything. An effort by Hippo well saved with the rebound coming to Collar in front of an empty goal but it came to him too quickly. A shot from Paddy which went a yard wide.

    Lots of really poor performances, Croasdale horribly at fault for their goal, defence (Wright excepted) looking shaky throughout. Rydel played well but was withdrawn for some reason. Wootton worked hard up front for no reward. Overall, I think Chally will be annoyed by that showing.

    The depth of our squad keeps being mentioned as a big plus but I'm not convinced myself. Lewis looks like a poor version of Horsfall. McDonald not good enough. Sarcevic not the same player he was imo and jury still out on the likes of Evans, Brown et al.

    Ah well, need to dust ourselves down and go again. Recent form has been good so not the end of the world and still feel that a mid table finish this season will represent progress.

    Just a last word on the pitch which must have been deemed barely playable. It was cutting up from minute 1 and looked like a ploughed field by the end but worst of all there was a 3m x 2m patch of what looked like quicksand in the centre of one penalty area!
