He hand produced side cars and would form a partnership with William Lyons which eventually lead to the formation of Swallow Side Cars. In the 1930s the company was known as SS cars but after the war and for obvious reasons the name of SS was dropped in favour of Jaguar cars. As a teenager I used to stare through the windows of Hollingdrakes opposite the town hall. I used to say to myself one day maybe one day. I am now onto my 3rd Jaguar driving about surrounded by walnut and leather.
