Andy Ready to Take The Plunge! Most people`s plans for the new year may be to eat less, exercise more or perhaps even be nice to the Mother-in-Law, but not Supporters Cooperative member Andy Pickford – he and wife Julie have a bungee jump off Victoria Falls in their sites in support of 2 excellent charities come January. Andy, born in Stockport is a Reddish resident becoming a County fan in 1977 when his brother took him to a Friday night game. County lost but he loved it and has been a Hatter ever since, a fact that this writer can verify having bumped into him on countless occasions home and away following our Club. The dare devil plunge into the unknown will take place on 28 January 2023 when Andy & Julie are on holiday in Zimbabwe and the bungee jump from the prodigious height of 128 metres (or 420 feet in old money) off the famous Victoria Falls Bridge ticks off one of the couples `bucket list`. Andy will be raising money for the excellent Francis House Children`s Hospice whilst Julie supports South Manchester Rehome and Rescue- watch out for their Just Giving Accounts. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/andrew-pickford18 Asked for a word Andy waxed lyrical about Francis House “A fabulous charity, one that helps families that are going through the worst of times and hopefully both charities will benefit from our jump along with those they support so well!” As well as being a Supporters Cooperative member Andy, a former steward at Edgeley Park, also joined Help the Hatters and is clearly steeped in good County traditions. We are really pleased to flag up this brave gambit by Andy and Julie and add our good wishes to those of many other County fans who will be with them in spirit if safely grounded in the UK.
