Really difficult to assess his time at the club. Brought in under Jim, he got a badlong-term injury. Prior to that he looked great, bombing forward and crossing accurately ( albeit at a lower level than this year). When he returned he looked a shadow of the player he was and despite slow improvement he lost his place. It was a major surprise to see him in the starting lineup in the first game of the season as at the end of last season he didn’t figure a lot in DCs line ups. After making fundamental errors he was dropped again, but then unexpectedly re-surfaced. To be fair, when he did, he played as well as anyone in the defence/ wing-back positions. Then he disappeared again without explanation. I can only think it is lack of game time, being shunted about between centre back, left full-back and left wing-back and the signing of Hussey (no improvement IMHO) and McDonald which has suggested to him that he has slipped well down the pecking order that has forced his hand.
