Newsletter- 16 September 2022. With the highly successful seventh Stockport Hatters Half Marathon in our locker and likely to add circa £2000 to our push towards the Danny Bergara Statue Appeal target of £50000 we are now definitely on schedule in that respect and remain committed to other efforts to ensure the statue is erected at Edgeley Park! Meet the Sculptor Evening. Arrangements are advancing well in respect of the visit to Stockport of Hannah Stewart the sculptor who won the commission to produce the statue. Hannah will be in town on the 29 September for a `Meet the Sculptor` event in the Hardcastle Suite at Edgeley Park (Doors 7pm for 7.30) to give a presentation of her work and an update on progress on the statue to date. You will be able to ask Hannah questions , and we will have a raffle on the night with some good prizes with a view to boosting the statue appeal. Our Remaining Calendars. We are on the Grassy Knoll alongside the Cheadle End turnstiles before County`s home games to sell the remaining stock of our unique ` SCSC Season Fixture Calendars` in support of the statue fund starting tomorrow between 1.15 and 2.15 before the game with Harrogate Town. The calendar is just £10 which you can pay in cash or use our QR code to pay via your smart phone. Bucket Collection- 1 October ( County v Walsall) Additionally, the Club have granted permission for us to hold a bucket collection at the Walsall match on October 1, in support of the statue appeal, and with your support that day we will get within reasonable striking distance of our target. Anonymous Supporters Comes Up Trumps! The bucket collection starts October off nicely, but thanks to an anonymous supporter we have another effort in place that will run throughout October. Simply put, our anonymous supporter has indicated that if we appeal for donations to the statue appeal, they will match every donation from individual supporters during October to a maximum total outlay from him/her of £1000.
