    Bury AFC v Bury FC fans demo Archived Message

    BURY. This is a joke that just gives on giving.

    There is currently a vote going on between members of the various supporters groups about whether Bury AFC (who have a team in the NWCFL, but no ground), and Bury FC (who have no team, but have Gigg Lane and rights to Bury's history) should merge.

    There are views from both sides that there should be a no merger. Some in Bury AFC like the non-commercialisation of a supporters run team and some in the FC camp see AFC as 'traitors' and 'rats' and should be outcasted.

    This weekend, Bury AFC's FA Cup game (vs North Shields) is live on BBC.

    The Bury FC 'no to merger' faction are running a demo march to Radcliffe (where AFC play) and a demonstration outside the ground. They say it will be 'peaceful' but they are looking for confrontation. No doubt all sorts of things will be done to get on telly such as booting footballs over the stands into the ground (like what happened at Macclesfield a few seasons ago).

    This is Bury fan vs Bury fan. Tearing itself apart. Like Northwich Vics on a larger scale.
