I think that Leicester won the toss and elected to shoot into the goal where their fans were. Fair enough, we would have done the same. If that was the case, do we not then get the choice to go first or second? I would have thought we would have chosen to go first as I read an article after the England defeat on penalties to Italy, and a massive scientific study has been done which looked at the chances of winning a penalty shoot out based on if you go first or second. The result was that if you go first, you have a 60% chance od winning. That is some statistical advantage, so I dont understand why all teams, given the choice, would not choose to go first? Any thoughts?
