    Very difficult to assess the current situation.
    Mistakes have cost us dearly in both games.
    Ash is prone to the odd error which have cost us several times in the past, but he has had some monumental games for us in the past.
    We have 3 other mainstream CBs (I am not counting Kitching as a a CB- that has to be one of the most bizarre managerial decisions last week picking him in a back three), Horsfall, Lewis and Johnson. Both Horsfall and Lewis are former non-league players. Lewis especially is almost a rookie defender. I don’t think we can afford to replace Ash at this point with him. He looked nervous and out of his comfort zone and needs time to bed in.

    Really liked the look of James Brown when he came on, but he is a back four defender like Sam Minihan was and the manager appears to prefer a back three to start games.

    Ben has also not covered himself in glory so far, but he has been Golden Gloves at a lower level. Still worth having a look at Jaros now, but he is also young and could be just as error-prone.
    Not happy with many aspects of our first 2 games. We are certainly not dominating games like last year. Wooton has a lot of improvement to make at this level and has been strong-armed out of both games. He doesn’t even look like scoring at the moment.
    However, it is early doors at the moment. If we are still playing like this after 10 games, start worrying.
