Tomorrow's the big day If you see us on the road to Carrington, please give us a wave. *************** Steve Bellis 1 d · Dear friends, especially County fans, one of our own is embarking on a very special journey this Thursday (4th August). Keith Mills, who celebrates his 80th birthday this Friday will be walking from Stockport Town Hall to our training ground at Carrington via Edgeley Park to raise money for his fantastic charity ‘Friends of Uganda’. Keith has been raising money to provide education opportunities for disadvantaged young children in Uganda for many years and has been supported by fellow County fans. 14 young children have their education sponsored by Hatters fans and half of the board of trustees are County fans too. They have achieved great things including building schools and have provided education for hundreds of very young children who would otherwise have very little hope of going to school. Over the years the club has helped with kits and equipment too. Every single penny raised goes to the cause. Keith and his fellow trustees cover all other costs personally. To give you an idea of how far the money can go, a child’s education can be provided for just £75. We are proud of what Keith and the other fans have achieved and what initiatives like this do for the image of our club. I know times are difficult financially and we have our own issues nearer to home but if anyone is able to give a donation, no matter how small, to support Keith’s ongoing work, we would be extremely grateful. Walking to Carrington at 80 years of age is no mean feat either. I will be there to meet him and treat him to some well deserved lunch (I’ll probably drive 😉  .
