Following on from our posting regarding our approach to the Club on stewarding at Edgeley Park we would now like to add further information. You will have noted yesterday that, following our request, the club ensured that for the most part stewards maintained a crouched position pitch side in front of the Cheadle End, moving to a standing posture in added time in response to large groups of fans gathering along the advertising hoardings . We are advised by the Club that once they have a large volume of supporters on, or very close to, the pitch perimeter barriers then our stewards are instructed to stand. With the necessity to avoid encroachment onto the pitch in mind and the potentially dire consequences of same, the Supporters Cooperative understands this response and would ask supporters to help the Club by not gathering in numbers at the barriers during games. Thank you. Stockport County Supporters Cooperative
