Bounce for Bergara statue? Archived Message

Myself and the rest of the Cartier Industries staff tend to use our ‘down time’ usefully.
For instance on Sunday morning at first light we retire to the Bear Pit in Mersey Square and break out our Space Hoppers for a damn good bounce.
We’ve been enjoying ‘Hopperring’ for a good couple of years now and even though Hampton became over-excited and misbounced over the balustrade into the river on a freezing cold January morning in 2019 (we gave him up as probably lost at sea until he staggered back to the shed at 4am two months later having swam 21 miles back to shore and walked from Liverpool)…we’ve always had a great time.

Only this last Sunday The Dingler managed to bounce down The fabled Plaza Steps and into the Bear Pit only falling off 12 times!….a marvellous attempt considering his record until then was hitting the pavement with his head on 32 occasions!
We’ll done The Dingler. He was the recipient of not one but TWO Pot Noodles for his Sunday lunch this last yesterday!

Oaf of course is the expert as you might expect….ballooning around with ease whilst negotiating his Greggs Stake Bake…it brings tears of joy to my face as he effortlessly flicks the ‘v’ s at a somewhat immature Hampton as he cruises effortlessly past him.

Hampton tends to just bounce about on the spot without any direction on his Jr Hopper….to be honest, he’s hopeless…all flushed face and flares, snot a-dribbling everywhere and shrieking like an overgrown schoolgirl.

Myself?…we’ll I’m more of a gentleman on the Hopper, I own a rare blue one that has only 4 puncture repairs to it’s name (unlike the other three who are always falling foul of the terrain, especially Hampton who is no stranger to the inevitable sound of the ‘hiss’ as his Jr Hopper again runs over Saturday evenings broken glass)…no, I can hop for hours but choose not to and instead take a respite after about half an hour, set up my picnic table…complete with tablecloth and tuck into something if a gourmet buffet I cut up the night before in my rooms.
Of course the other three are drooling at my repast but as the boss, I have to show them some discipline and chuck my leftovers into the river when I’ve vanquished my hunger (I always make at least three times more lobster than I need)…anyway they have the delights of slightly out of date PN’s to look forward too!

…but I digress…my plan is to organise 500+ fellow Space Hopper enthusiasts to join me this afternoon at 4.25 to Bounce around for a sponsored 24 hour ‘Hop’ towards the statue fund.
It’ll cost a mere £28.46 to join in this ‘Hopper Happening’ and I’ll donate a whopping 3% of what’s raised to the appeal!
    THATS RIGHT….3 %!!!!!

No concessions for pensioners by the way.

    So COME ON!
Retrieve that Space Hopper from the back of the shed and help us ‘give something back’!
