Premier league/Championship it is 3 up/down Championship/League one it is also 3 up/down League one/League two it 4 up/down League two/National league it is 2 up/down
So, in the Premier there are 3 different teams each season, championship there are 6 different teams, League one there are 7 different teams , League two 6 different teams and National league has 6 different teams because of four relegation spots to the two regional leagues.
Therefore any change for league two/National league to three up/ three down should be linked to a simultaneous change to 3up/down league one\two (rather than current 4 up down)
The result would be six different teams each season in Championship, League one, League two but 7 different teams in National league as you would have to stick to four down to the two regional leagues
This would be more consistent. I have no idea why there is 4up/down between league one/two. I thought it may be linked to the creation of the old divisions 3 and 4 from the old division three north/south but that is not the case as I think only one was promoted from each of old division 3 north and south
Increasing the promotion/relegation spots by one between National and league two increases risk of league two team being relegated to non league but also ultimately gives a better chance of a return to league two
Question - if we get promoted would you support an increase in the promotion/relegation spots between National/League 2 , thus increasing our chance of relegation back to non league either now or in future years ?
Would your views change if we stay in National league this season?
