    …to those who were expecting the Cartier Industries commentary of Saturday’s game.
    There was an unfortunate technical issue.
    Hampton’s skates were unbeknownst to me, half perished.
    As we set off from outside The Fingerpost Hotel with Hampton visibly shaking from fear/cold weather…I shouted at him to ‘man up’ then took my seat on the warm coach.
    We were as far as Birmingham when I peered through the rain out of the back window to see how the little coward was doing. To be honest I may have mistook him balancing on one leg as him ‘showing off’ but apparently he was down to his last skate as the right-footed one apparently flew through a bus shelter somewhere near the Farmer’s Arms.
    I had a nice snooze then tucked into an excellent meat pie from the superb stall on Stockport Indoor Market. I dabbed the last crumbs from my beard and casually glanced out of the back window only to see a Hamptonless rope dragging behind the coach.
    The useless little git had seemingly come adrift just after Taunton.
    Of course I was worried sick…the radio commentary equipment was on hire! Luckily it was delivered to my rooms this morning with minimum damage.
    As for Hampton…god only knows where he got to…probably lazing around in some field somewhere.
    He’s like a bad Penny, he’ll turn up sooner or later, so long as he realises he’s not being paid for his impromptu holiday.
