It’s the technique I don’t like. There’s a few new ideas creeping into the modern goalkeeping philosophy such as the shovel tried there by Ben and saving high shots with the ‘wrong’ hand. I’m not a great fan of either. With my lad bring a budding keeper I see these things closely and I don’t really understand them. All he needed to do was dive normally to his right and get his hands behind the ball.
I notice we have a relatively new goalkeeper coach, Shwan Jalal, I’m wondering if he’s trying to teach our keepers new habits. We’ve had more errors from our keepers this season than in the last few years in total.
