Hello and greetings from Luton. This might seem an odd request but I have been embroiled in an argument with the Luton Town club historian for many years concerning an incident that occured during the game at Kenilworth Road on Friday 25/04/1969. Basically, someone in the crowd blew a whistle which caused one of the Luton players to catch the ball in the penalty area, and Stockport scored from the resulting penalty. The local Luton press identified the player who handled the ball but I think they got the wrong man. I know it's a long shot but does anybody remember that game all of 52 years ago, or have a match report somewhere that might shed light on the truth? Thanks. It's sad to see a proud old league team playing in the lower leagues, we had it for a few short years and wouldn't wish it on anyone.I hope that you get back where you belong very soon.
