Seriously, most of the pensioners I know are absolutely wadded. Nice houses, flash motors. always going on holiday when they can, some even have second holiday homes. No mortgage, final salary pensions or huge pension pots, probably loads in the bank.
Why should they pay less? Go to a concert at the Bridgewater Hall or a play at the Lowry theatre and there is no pensioner discount. So why football?
Granted some pensioners are living on the breadline with just a basic pension, but so are many working adults with very little spare too.
Personally, I'd scrap the concessions and make the adult price a little bit cheaper, thereby maintaining overall revenue for the total attendance.
