    yes its stats again. statements like you cannot score if you haven,t the ball has been taken up a few levels. the only statistic thats worth it is the amount of possesion you have in the final attacking quarter of the pitch. in the modern game far too much of sideways and backward passing and walking football happens in a teams own half. someone somewhere will have proved this to be a success. then everyone else follows as a pale imitatation of them or trying it without the players who are capably or want to play that way themselves. any team that plays more direct are classed as a long ball or hoofball outfit managed by someone from the past if they are not succesful.
