Danny Bergara is as iconic for Stockport County as Sir Matt Busby or Sir Alex Ferguson for Manchester United and Bob Paisley at Liverpool. They have statues for their legendary managers.
The Co-op and HTH feel that it is fitting to recognise Danny in this way, as he has done so much to transform the fortunes and history of Stockport County - as well as being a larger than life character.
Also having a statue to our heroes helps enhance and elevate the Club's stature and status too, in my opinion. A statue encourages younger generations to engage and relate with our history, ask questions and take an interest in one of the best era's of our football club from 1989 to 1995.
