    A salary cap as I understand was introduced in the EFL1 and EFL2 in 2020.
    It was scrapped the next year after legal arbitration.

    They have salary caps in rugby, league and union.
    In RL clubs are allowed a marquee signing who doesn’t count in the salary. Also home grown players who come through a clubs youth teams don’t count.

    In Rugby Union Saracens were fined £5.5 million and docked 70 points for salary cap breaches.
