I suspect that there have been various fingers in the pie so far as recent recruitment is concerned. Some of the newer players are well known to Jim Gannon and have played for him before - Jennings, Williams , Bennett and Stott - so I suspect they were signed on his recommendation. Others have maybe been identified and signed by the Director of Football. Whoever signed them clearly they are the players Simon Rusk is now going to have to work with. It's not his team - apart from Collar - so he can only select the best 11 from who is there. It's a pretty big squad of decent players so he should be able to create a good side. Whether it will be good enough to get us up it doesn't look like it on current form. It's obvious we are lacking in attack and the blend isn't right - too many defensive midfield players maybe. That's something he is going to have to get right sooner rather than later if we are to avoid dropping back into mid table.
