The Supporters Cooperative Show Support for the Stockport County Food for Christmas Campaign ! The Supporters Cooperative have always been aware of how important maintaining links to and supporting the local community is, hence our decision , some years ago, to make the Wellspring, Stockport`s magnificent charity for homeless people of the town, our chosen charity, and thanks to the support of County fans the relationship between the Wellspring and ourselves has worked well. So, with upwards of 7000 children in Stockport likely to go without food during the Christmas holiday period, due to Government indifference, it was heartening to see that County`s owner Mark Stott responded by launching the `Stockport County Food for Christmas` campaign. The Club is aiming to raise the £220,000 needed to provide food vouchers and thus help families at a tremendously difficult time, Mr Stott donating £100,000 to the campaign , promising that the Club will add 10% of Club Shop sales to that figure ultimately. The Stockport County Supporters Cooperative see this as appropriate action taken to meet an obvious need, and have agreed to support the campaign with a donation of £500. In making this gesture of support, we would also like to invite members and County fans in general , to consider supporting the cause with a donation.
