    Generally speaking in recent history player recruitment has been good within the constraints of budgets at the time.
    Except, IMO recruitment of strikers.
    Since JG returned we have signed Amiss, Etches, Odejayi,West,Czubic, Mulhern, Bell, Bennett, Reid, Oswell,Gonzales, of a few loans, only Piggott looked the part but only played a few times. Different types of strikers, but few with much of a scoring track record.
    Only Oswell I would consider a success, being the only striker who scored regularly, plus many assists.
    To me a striker is judged on goals, not his ability to make hoofball work.
