Match Day ... 34 years on Archived Message

The first home game of the season, and our spectating is courtesy of the internet. It's clear that streaming is going to be the way of the next few months at least. My experience so far has been positive and despite the outcome of Saturday it does at least give us the opportunity to watch the game.

As an aside I had £6 worth watching Curzon last night. Curran impressed as did Stephenson until he got carted by an Alfreton defender and had to go off. Turnbull will be a great signing for them - he controlled the game for Curzon playing in front of the back line.

Anyway game day it is. And it was game day 34 years ago today as well. A visit to Maine Road to face Wednesday. It didn't end well - and was further proof that Melia's reign couldn't have long to go.

My scribblings on "57 Hatters Years" reflect not only on that game but also on more pleasurable trips to Maine Road, together with my take on the direction of travel that what is little more than a franchise these days has taken.

    If you've got 5 mins it's here
