    Not too sure about that as many travellers have annual insurance covering worldwide travel and that includes potential treatment in the US etc.
    My wife and I both have pre-existing conditions and can still get cover for relative peanuts (v cost of a long haul holiday) which even includes cover for repatriation if needed from a cruise ship.
    Of course there’s a fair amount of travellers who only go to EU so this could affect premiums to a degree but doubt it will have an effect to the degree you suggest.
    Getting cover for cancellations of trips due to Covid may be a different thing altogether though, currently very few if any will give cover for that but many are now offering cover for hospitalisation and or repatriation whilst away if you contract it while travelling.
