Please provide examples of how European influence has enhanced the lives of Africans, because it isn't really clear to me? I'd be interested to learn.
Why dismiss the example of King Leopold and his crimes against humanity in Congo?
What about the introduction of apartheid in South Africa?
What about the supression of the Mau Mau in Kenya, by Winston Churchill - Britain creating the largest concentration camps on earth and causing the deaths of an estimated 50,000 Kenyans - half of them children?
Countries generally don't all live in harmony. Europe hasn't and it has resulted in two World Wars - and millions losing their lives. What about the UK and the States attacking Iraq and costing 1 m lives - again for resources (in this case oil)?
Britain and other European countries didn't colonise Africa for the benefit of the locals. They did it to take their resources, take their wealth - and that included forced labour.
