Problem is. It is pretty much literally the entire playbook of those who would sell the NHS off to the private sector entire, to sell the idea that they're doing it to improve things.
Closing the mines - "they cost too much. It will improve this countries finances to get rid"
Energy - "Privatising will bring in competition. Service will improve and prices reduce"
Post Office - same.
I don't think it ever works to take vital public services into the private sector because the private sector has a number of stakeholders, and most of those don't see customers as stakeholders other than to be rinsed.
