Yes. Had many chats with Sir Alan about the gates. Players were on a small crowd bonus, each time it clicked over a 1000 they got a bit more.
Talked to many of the 66/67 team, who said some of the gates that season were ridiculously low. The average for the season was given as 9,988, which says it all!
DH as seen the account book for that season, which gives the fan entry of each Turnstile, admission price and the total (in ground) attendance.
The Southport Att in the book was 18,428. The gate given was 13,760.
Crewe at Easter was 17,255, it was given as 12,706.
Tranmere given as 11,981 was 19,226
I personally have the account book for 1956/57. Every home game in that book has a higher attendance than what was given in the blue book.
