I still think if Gonzales had got his head right, he'd have been a decent player in the Bramble/McNeil/Odejayi type role, rather than an out and out goalscorer.
Would say Amis is a completely different category of player - the punt on promising youngster from lower league. Sometimes those pay off (Duxbury / Kenyon / Pilkington), sometimes they're nowhere near good enough (Lofthouse / Colley / West) and sometimes they do a job for a season or two before being replaced by better (Amis / Churchman / Morton)
