The chances of all 71 Football League Clubs making it through this pandemic are very slim.
A lot of focus, rightly, is placed on vulnerable League 1 & 2 Clubs but the Championship is where the real carnage will take place IMO.
Can you imagine, even in a post-administration scenario, buying a Championship Club with inherited 'Football Debts' of £30m and no ownership of the stadium? Having also already received and spent NEXT years TV/Solidarity money!
Reading, an also-ran Championship Club, spends £2.27 on Players' wages alone, for every £1 it generates from all activities. Crazy.
The National League is in big trouble too but its lower costbase, almost non-existent Transfer Fee obligations and shorter Player Contracts mean they can be mothballed and come back relatively inexpensively.
I see a restructured Pyramid with Premier 1 Premier 2. Football League National, Football League Regionals.
