RIP.
A nice County story is when Norman got the Rotherham job, his Board said he could only sign bargin basement players.
Eric Webster phoned him and said he had a player available but needed 50k for him to pay off the taxman.
Eric was asked to bring him over for a chat and Norm was very impressed with Dean Emerson, whom he knew quite a bit about already.
A fee of £35,500 was agreed. Norm eventually sold him to Coventry for 100k plus two young Coventry players.
Strangely, I was at Norman's last game in charge of Rotherham. As a 3rd Division side he was sacked ten minutes after the final whistle, 4-0 FA Cup defeat at non lge Macclesfield Town.
Rest well big man. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
