It's in Spanish but - from my rudimentary Spanish & how I've translated it on Google - this is how they appear to be doing things over here.
The Tercera leagues (4th Divisions) have ended their season's and the positions are as they were after the last round of games. They have finished the season with 10 games still to play. Follow the "clasificación" link as to how this Group finished.
There are 18 Tercera leagues in total.
In this particular group - Grupo 13, Murcia - the team that finished 4th (Murcia Imperial) are the B team of Real Murcia. As Real Murcia already play in the League directly above this league, their B team can't be promoted so 5th place Mazarrón get the 4th play off slot.
The play offs here are ridiculously complicated but they are National so the 4 clubs from this group will be drawn against teams from all over Spain and the Islands who also finished in the play off spots in their groups. The group champions don't automatically go up but the champions from the 18 groups play off against the other champions with the 9 winners going up. (Wikipedia explains it far better than I can if you're interested.)
They are very optimistic the play offs will go ahead so all promotions and relegations can still happen. 2 teams have already been promoted into Group 13 for next season but no one will be relegated because the League is 2 teams short from last season.
It's all very complex but it does allow for closure to this season and for next season to restart as it would normally whenever that may be.
Thoughts from an English perspective? May the Spaniards have set a precedent for other leagues to follow?
Any corrections to this by people with better Spanish than me (or Google) will be appreciated.
