Stevenage away, I think it was the season we got relegated from the Football League and Simpson was probably manager. Could have remembered that wrong.
Spent a load of time and money I didn't have travelling there because my County supporting mate in London would join and we'd make a day of it. He bailed shortly after I got on the train, for no particular reason other than County were crap and he had better things to do. He was right. Spent the day as Billy No Mates, Stevenage is a crap town, annoying fans with drony songs, and they smashed us 4-1. The 1 was a late consolation scored by George Donnelly and I don't remember another time when I have not celebrated a County goal.
