Campaigners say that the support available for businesses damaged by coronavirus such as business rates holidays and help paying wages of furloughed staff do not apply to the dairy industry, which cannot stop milking cows.
The situation is untenable very few dairy businesses will be unaffected, said National Farmers Union president Minette Batters said.
