I used to know Eddie Critchley who played for County in the 1920s who then went on to sign for Everton and supply the crosses for Dixie Dean in his record scoring season. He told me he was on £7 a week so for that lad to sign for £100 a week for Blackburn in the 1870s, seems a bit far fetched.
